ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF GERONTOLOGY AND GERIATRICS


The Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics was founded in 1952 in Bucharest - Romania as the first institution of this kind at the initiative and under leadership of Prof. Ana Aslan. Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics was founded in 1980 by Prof. Ana Aslan.

As recognition of her contributions to the field of research on aging, Ana Aslan was accepted member of New York Academy of Science, Full Board Member of International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, Counselor for the World Health Organization, member of the Romanian Academy. She was awarded many international honors and distinctions such as the Prize and the Medal "Léon Bernard" awarded by World Health Organization. Many political and artistic personalities of the last century used Ana Aslan’s treatments and the Institute named Ana Aslan was recommended by WHO as a model for similar institutions in the world.

+ Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics is the official journal of the Romanian Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics, which is affiliated to the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, member of the European Union Geriatric Medicine Society and of the UEMS-Geriatrics Section.

+ Romanian Journal of Gerontology and Geriatrics provides free access for manuscripts and information about scientific events; submission, processing and publication of manuscripts are free of charge.
